Cirrus 9 candy was born from an unreasonable desire to create something impossibly light using ingredients from the ground: organic cane sugar, real fruit, maple sugar, and natural flavors.
Thousands of delicate strands are spun together into something that exists somewhere between candy and atmosphere.
But candy clouds don’t appear out of nowhere. Ours begin with ingredients sourced whenever possible from local organic farms and fellow small businesses. By starting with exceptional ingredients, we’re able to create flavors that are brighter, cleaner, and unmistakably real, proof that even the lightest things can have deep roots.
We engineer our cotton candy for wonder. Just simple ingredients transformed into something strange enough to make people smile before they’ve even taken a bite, and familiar enough to remind them why they fell in love with cotton candy in the first place.

That realization collided with her lifelong love of candy and sparked an obsession.
Founder Morganne spent much of her childhood aggressively searching for ways to consume more sugar. Naturally, cotton candy sat near the top of her carefully curated sugar pyramid.
Raised by health-conscious parents (a tragedy, in her opinion), her options were limited. She became an expert label negotiator, learning exactly which ingredient lists might earn the coveted, “Okay, you can have it.”
Years later, after spending more than a decade working with individuals with special needs and raising two children of her own, Morganne began noticing something she couldn’t ignore: synthetic ingredients seemed to be affecting more and more people. The sensitivities she saw in her children and the young adults she worked with mirrored a growing concern among consumers everywhere.
What started as a simple question, could cotton candy be made without all the artificial ingredients and actually taste better?, quickly became a series of wild experiments, countless failures, destroyed candy machines, and one small but memorable fire.

Every great sugar-fueled adventure needs an accomplice.
Makenna first discovered Cirrus 9 candy as a customer. Drawn in by equal parts curiosity, nostalgia, and an undeniable sweet tooth, she quickly became one of the brand’s biggest supporters.
With a background in software design and engineering, she brought a completely different perspective to the company. Fortunately, she’s also a dedicated foodie with a serious appreciation for exceptional ingredients and thoughtfully crafted treats, making her uniquely qualified to evaluate every new flavor that comes out of the kitchen.
What started as enthusiastic customer feedback evolved into strategic advice, countless brainstorming sessions, and eventually a partnership.
Today, Makenna leads Operations and Tech for Cirrus 9, helping transform a wild idea born in a Hudson Valley kitchen into a rapidly growing specialty food brand.
